Does thought really matter?

I know I have been talking about Christmas a lot lately; but I just can’t help it. With that being said, does the thought really matter when you are given a gift that you don’t like? Well, I know, particularly when little children don’t get the gifts they want, they tend to get very upset. However, adults will probably hold their true feelings in, and accept their unwanted gift with grace. Honestly, I do like great gifts; but if a loved one gives me a gift that I don’t necessarily like, I will still accept the present with open arms. Sometimes the best gifts do come from the heart; but I think if you really want to get the gift you want this christmas, try playing secret santa with your friends and exchange presents.

College Education

Is getting a college education important to you? Well, it has always been important to me. Many people say that getting a good education is a resource that you can use through out your entire lifetime. Being educated can offer you plenty of job opportunites of becoming doctors, lawyers, teachers, accountants etc. All of these occupations and more do a wonderful service for your community, and it is a way in which you can help the next generation to become successful as well. However, I know that many people say that “college isn’t for everyone”; but don’t sell yourself short. Whatever, you decide to do in life make sure you attain some type of skill; and use that skill to help make this society a better place!

Inner Beauty

Seriously, what attracts you to a person? Is it their inner beauty or their outside appearance. Most people say the first thing that attracts them to a person is their appearance. However, after you have met this individual, what will keep you interested? In my opinion, in order for a person to be attractive you’ve got to have a great personality. My interest in you can’t just be based entirely on your looks. Qualities such as kindness, intelligence, patience, humility, and a great sense of humor are personal attributes that I really admire about a person. So just remember looks are definitely not everything. Sometimes a person’s beautiful spirit can out shine, the minor flaws of their appearance.

Winter Time Blues?

Do people really suffer from increased depression during the winter? I have heard about some recent studies that were done, which indicates that some people become slightly more depressed in the winter time, than in any other season. Why is this the case? Well, maybe extemely cold weather serverely limits your indoor actvities. Or, after the holidays have passed there is no significant event to look forward to during between the cold months of January and April. Honestly, my favorite season is spring because the temperatures are warm, and people seem to be a bit more happy. However, I find winter to be a lovely season, too. Sometimes I think there is a hidden beauty about the season of winter that is often overlooked. Overall, let’s try to be happy all year round!

Cookies vs. Carrots

Why is obesity such a huge issue in today’s society? Well, I guess those sweat snacks are just too good to put down. But seriously we have a huge problem in our hands. Obseity causes so many other life-threatening diseases such as diabetes and heart disease. We as human beings have go to treat our bodies better; and we have to learn how to eat certain foods in moderation. Personally I love chocolate chip cookies, but I also love carrots. Maybe Americans as a collective unit can learn to eat more of the healthy things and less of the unhealthy foods. I know that this is not going to happen over night; but if we put forth an effort I think we can win the battle over obesity.

Women & Stress

Sometimes I wonder do women experience more stress than men. Females in today’s society have to deal with so many issues. These issues vary from body image, to sexism, gender discrimination etc. Moreover, women have to deal with the pressures of being mothers and wives, while successfully maintaining a professional career. Also, there are huge self-esteem issues that are extremely prevalent among young teenage girls. I know that as a human race, individuals of all sexes experience stress. Moreover, I know that men have a lot on their plate to deal with as well. However, I think that living a life as a woman in this society can be very stressful,too.

Technology

Sometimes I wonder if technology is a good thing or a bad thing. I recently had a conversation about this topic; and I feel that technology can be very beneficial in some ways. For example, advances in technology is commonly used to keep in contact with the people who are most important to you. Some of these technological devices/advances include cell phones, internet, video cameras etc. Although technology has it’s many advances, it may have some disadvantages as well. This may include the ways in which individuals use their cellphones with poor manners. Overall, I do think technology is a good thing because it does make life more convenient.

Holidays

This time of the year is truly the best. I absolutely love the holiday season. It is a time where you can enjoy the company of family and friends; and it also a time where you can get a lot of shopping done. Especially, with all the great sales that department stores have. Moreover, during this time of the year, you get to appreciate all the good things that you have in you life. Such as health, relationships, family, friends etc. I guess, being that I had such a good thanksgiving, I just wanted to reflect on how much the holidays mean to me. This truly is the most wonderful time of the year!

I oftten hear this question asked to many people: If you could change one thing about yourself what would you change? Well, I think this is a very hard question to answer. Some people may respond very quickly and other people may have to take some time to think about it. Personally, there are a few things that I would like to change about myself; and I think that this question can be a positive tool to help you realize how you can improve yourself as a person. However, sometimes this question can provoke you to obsess about certain imperfections that you may not be able to change so easily. Overall, I think you have to learn how to be happy in your own skin and appreciate yourself for who you are.

Favorite Place in the World

I think if I could travel to any place in the world right now, I would choose to go to Hawaii. I am absolutely in love with Hawaii. The climate is wonderful and the beaches are beatuiful. I have seen a video in which it shows a particular Hawaiian beach that made of all black sand. This visual was so amazing. Seriously, if I were rich, I would definitely buy a vacation home in Hawaii. It is just something about the aura of Hawaii that conveys peace, comfort, and relaxation. Someday I will visit Hawaii, and hopefully it will be everything that I’ve dreamed of.
